The Amazing Araucaria araucana & its cultivation in Victoria
Araucaria araucana has been cultivated in Victoria for at least 150 years, and were found to make significant and important contributions to the landscapes in which they had been planted.
Araucaria araucana is a large, resinous, dioecious or rarely momoecious, coniferous tree of up to 50m in height in its natural ecology. Heights of 30-40m however are more common. In it’s natural ecology the species attains great longevity and may reach approximately 1000 years of age.
